The World Foundry Congress is held every two years by the World Foundry Organization (WFO) with support from the host country’s foundry society. The first congress was held in Paris in 1923. The congress greatly contributes to large advancements in foundry technology through keynote lectures and technical presentations. Japan joined the WFO in 1954 and has hosted the World Foundry Congress twice so far; once in 1968 in Kyoto and once in 1990 in Osaka. It has been decided to host the 72nd World Foundry Congress in Nagoya, Japan after an interval of 26 years.
